A new 13cms Amateur Television Repeater for
Derby and Surrounding Areas
Look out for the Test Transmissions on 2440Mhz
The application has now been passed for a New 13 cms ATV repeater for Derby and the Surrounding Areas.

The call sign GB3DH has been accepted, the "DH" standing for Drum Hill. The repeater is located at Drum Hill Little Eaton on the out skirts of Derby. After a lot of furious activity, Test transmissions have finally started, the repeater is still in beacon mode and the antennas are not at the full height yet. This is because it is easier to work on the TX and RX with those still within the cabin. As stated in other pages on this site eventually the TX and RX units, along with the PA, will be located at the top of the tower so as to reduce feeder losses to an absolute minimum.
At the moment there are test cards and pictures being radiated, there is of course the Morse ident for GB3DH along with a voice ident, these go out on the 6 MHz intercarrer sound channel. Any signal reports would be most welcome, remember that if you can get any type of picture now that things should improve when the antennas got to there full height, so please let the group know via the "contact us box" on the home page
The group are very grateful to Jim Balls M0CKE, for the use of his circuits. The logic board construction is now complete and undergoing testing.
This site has been chosen to give maximum coverage to not only the City but well into the surrounding areas of:- Nottingham, Leicester, Burton and beyond.
It is planned to have information pages available
in some form and at a later date a full teletext service. This will allow all
types of amateur radio related topics to be displayed, with pages available for
individuals or clubs use.
Other additions at a later date will it is hoped
will be a Tower Camera, controlled by DTMF tones. Also 23cms and 3cms ATV
repeaters all with a cross connect facility.
